What Is a Concrete Cart and Truck Towing Capacity?
A concrete cart and truck towing capacity is the highest or heaviest amount your truck can carry or tow without getting damaged, being unsafe, or violating local laws and regulations. Before hauling away building materials or a concrete cart, you must know the highest truck towing capacity your vehicle can manage. It’s best to read your vehicle manual or check the manufacturer’s website to determine your vehicle’s maximum load capacity or truck towing capacity. Our helpful pickup truck towing capacity chart can also help you determine if your truck can handle the load:
Truck Size | Max Yards |
---|---|
Truck Size1/2 Ton | Max Yards1.25 yards |
Truck Size3/4 Ton | Max Yards1.75 yards |
Equipment Requirements for Concrete Cart Hauling
In addition to knowing the towing capacity for trucks, you must also have the necessary equipment to attach the concrete cart to your vehicle for safe towing. Our staff can help you determine what you need and how to attach it to your vehicle, or you can check your owner’s manual. Here are the basics:
- Full-size ½ Ton or Larger Truck – You must have a full-size ½ ton or larger truck.
- Hitch – If your vehicle has a 2 5/16” ball receiver hitch and sufficient towing capacity, we can attach a concrete cart.
- Trailer or Wheeled Chassis – You can also put the cart on a trailer or wheeled chassis attached to your hitch for added safety and stability.
- Flatbed Truck – Some smaller carts can be transported in a flatbed truck or low-load trailer.
- Tie-downs – You will need to use tie-downs if you are transporting the concrete cart in a truck or on a trailer.
- Securements – You may need to use blocking, binders, shackles, or winches to further reinforce and stabilize the cart if it is being transported via truck or trailer.
You must also have a current driver’s license, current insurance card, and a credit card.

Use and Maintenance Guidelines, Service Availability, and Policies
The rental of our concrete carts is subject to availability. We have a maximum of two hours allowed for concrete trailer rentals. If you exceed this length of time, you will be charged an additional $25 for every 15 minutes thereafter. If you exceed this time by an hour or longer, you will be charged an additional $50 per 15 minutes. If you return the cart after hours, you will be charged an additional $25 per minute.
The concrete cart must be returned to us in clean working order. You must also use proper protocols when storing and mixing concrete to protect the equipment. Please leave 15 gallons of clean, clear water in the trailer. If you do not meet these requirements, we may charge you a $100 cleaning fee. The cart must rotate while you drive to protect the casters. If there is any damage to the casters, you will need to pay for replacement.
